Beau Biller, Forensic Engineer
PURPOSE and EXPERIENCE:
As a Forensic Engineer, I support and assist my clients by answering questions and addressing issues of fact regarding accidents, injuries, and property damage. My experience includes a varied background in the automobile industry and over 4 years in forensic engineering, accident reconstruction and safety analysis. My work includes motor vehicle, industrial, agricultural and consumer accident reconstruction and safety analysis, product failure analysis, and fire cause and origin investigation. I have performed field investigations and performed accident reconstructions on hundreds of automobile accidents, including commercial vehicle, railroad, motorcycle, bicycle, and pedestrian accidents.
EDUCATION:
I hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on Materials Engineering from Florida State University with minors in Theoretical Physics and Mathematics.
CAPABILITIES:
One of my most important assets is keeping up with cutting edge methods and technology used in the field of forensic engineering. I use these to make sure that our clients are provided with the most sophisticated and accurate engineering analysis possible.
Data Collection:
Devices and instruments for collecting information include: Conventional and digital photography and videography, laser scene mapping, Crash Data Recorder data collection, light meters, friction testers, vehicle accelerometers, sound level meter, stereo zoom microscopy, volt-ohm meters, gas samplers, and a host of other devices for measuring the physical world.
Data Analysis:
Analysis methodologies and equipment include: Manual mathematical analysis, computer assisted motor vehicle accident analysis including HVE, Edsmac, Edcrash, etc., computer graphics, computer assisted and manual photogrammetry, a personal library with thousands of items including standards, texts and other references, and the world of information available via high speed internet connection.
Presentation of Findings:
Verbal descriptions and representations, fixed graphics on display type boards, 3d solid models, computer based animations, photographic enlargements, computer assisted presentations via LCD projection as with Power Point, which may include still and moving graphics, etc.

In support of my client’s needs, I consult, work with, and/or refer clients to other professionals with whom I have established relationships during my years of experience.
